Asparagus Setaceus is commonly known as the Asparagus Fern however it is not technically a fern and is instead part of the Lily Family. This easy care plant is known for its feathery delicate leaves and is commonly used in terrariums for its tiny jungle tree aesthetic. Native to South Africa Asparagus Ferns thrive in humid places, making them the perfect bathroom addition.

Asparagus Ferns are thirsty plants, therefore it is important to not let the soil dry out. Reduce watering in Winter to avoid it becoming waterlogged.

Asparagus Ferns love humidity so a bathroom is its ideal location and will give it the humidity it needs. Alternatively mist daily and place close to other plants.

Asparagus Ferns are prone to red spider mites. Check the foliage regularly and remove any older yellowing foliage at the bottom to encourage new growth. Avoid touching the fine foliage as they do not like the natural oils on human hands!

Troubleshooting

Older foliage will yellow naturally and can simply be removed. If the yellowing is widespread this could be due to being too warm in its location and need moved to a cooler area. It can also be due to over or underwatering. In this case check the Asparagus Fern is not waterlogged and keep to a regular watering schedule.
